The winner is Katerina Lihach.
We have a new contest with a noble goal and a reward of UAH 10,000!
June 14 is the World Donor Day and many will see posts on this topic in the social media, but unfortunately its popularity will again fall a bit later. Do you know that there are almost three times fewer blood donors in Ukraine than WHO recommends? And most of them donate blood only once. At the same time, according to WHO the safest blood is provided by voluntary donors who donate blood regularly and free of charge (https://donor.ua/pages/2239)
Therefore, in cooperation with DonorUA, the largest donor organization of Ukraine, we hold the contest for a poster to popularize free and regular blood donation throughout the country. Well, it's really a difficult task. But maybe it is you who will figure out how to touch a person, to catch him/her on the run and, most importantly, how to make him/her want to act. For example, there is social advertising about global warming, which makes people think, causes sadness, but often does not contain any actual appeal for an action. It may pursue another goal – to highlight a new problem, to remind society, to collect donations, etc.
For this contest we would like to see posters that will not just make you sigh and feel compassion. For some inspiration, we recommend to look at the attached examples, they describe social problems and at the same time suggest some kind of action:
- Don't buy souvenirs made from exotic animals;
- Do not talk to those driving;
- Do not put likes senselessly, but become a volunteer;
- Do not smoke when pregnant or next to a pregnant woman;
- Fasten belts in the car;
- Switch from a car to a bike.
Poster can be of any format – graphics, illustrations, photos or a combination of formats, or even plain text. The language is Ukrainian, if copy line can by easily translated into English, twice as good. You may use metaphors, proceed from adverse, whatever. Of course, you will be pursued by images of outstretched hands, hearts, hourglasses, drops and blood bags (and now you also know this word)), but would you manage to see the bigger picture or just from a different angle?
For those who have doubts that such a concise format is effective – do you remember the classic expression “got milk”? Maybe its worth rephrasing as “got blood”?
And finally, let's get serious. To understand the importance, to see real human lives, which DonorUA tries to save, browse their website (https://donor.ua/) and social networks. Just imagine, what if your poster can bring 100 people. According to statistics, it is deemed that one donation saves 3 lives. Have you been recently offered to save 300 people? And what if 1,000 come?
